rio bravo country clubIf you’re searching for a home away from the downtown area of Bakersfield, there’s a community called Rio Bravo.  Rio Bravo is located in northeast Bakersfield approximately 10 miles east of the center of town.  From Southern California, take 99 North and go east on highway 178.  Once you pass City in the Hills community, Rio Bravo will be on the right.

Prices in the area is affordable in comparison to homes on the northwest side of Bakersfield. The current median sale price of homes is at $244,000. The median listing price is currently at $278.658. Price per square foot is $113.  Median year of construction was in 2002. Median closing price of a home is $290,000. There’s 92% homeowners and 8% renting.

Rio Bravo in Northeast Bakersfield

The population in the Rio Bravo community is about 1,825. The 42.5% of the residents are between the ages of 45 and 64 years old and 28.72% of them are 65 and older.

Solera at Kern Canyon is an active adult community residence for those who are 55+ and over. It’s a gated community of 558 homes, surrounded by rolling hills. The construction of homes started in 2004 and now they’re on a resale basis.

Some nearby activity and attraction is the Rio Bravo Country Club . It’s an 18 hole private golf course on hilly terrains and is well-known for their championship golf tournaments.

Rio Bravo is a small community, away from the center of the city of Bakersfield, crime activity in the area is very low.

For family activities, there’s the Solera Garden Park and the Solera Tennis Court. Not too far from the community, you can take the family to the CALM (California Living Museum) or a nice park trail walk at Hart Park.
